While in Minnesota, Ben was struck by what he called a "fierce serenity" about the quiet woodlands -- finding not only contentment, but also a strange and restless longing.  first developed a love for poetry, studying its many forms, and trying his hand at some of his own.  For those interested, check out his Walkthrough of Classic Poetry (He promises it's not as boring as it sounds).  Ben's eventual dream is to publish a book of poetry, and in furtherance of that dream he has posted a selection of his poems on his blog for any who want to read.  While continuing his trek through the mystic world of poetry, Ben slowly began to marvel at all the old-fashioned romantic ideals he saw in the writings classic authors, and he began studying and writing extensively on Philosophy and Romance, which he'd love for you to check out.  The culmination of these enterprises came in the form of his manuscript Mountainside, which he's included as an ebook.

Ben's current projects are to finish the sequal to Shadows on the Edge of Town, presently entitled The Stone, which is scheduled to be published later this year.  He is also in the final rewrites of book 1 of a new fantasy trilogy entitled The Banished Lands, and hopes to have a compiled book of poetry finished sometime before the end of the year.  Thanks very much for stopping by.  To contact Ben, email him at Benjamester@gmail.com.
About Ben:

Ben Mester (left-hand side of the picture) was born and raised in San Diego, California.  He originally discovered a love for writing while living in the Kingdom of Cambodia for ten months.  It was there that he composed the first of his books, Shadows on the Edge of Town.  After his time in Cambodia, Ben spent almost 2 years living in the countryside of Northern Minnesota with his Aunt and Uncle, where he wrote At Home Across the Sea.
